LILAC TREES (syringa vulgaris ‘Andenken an Ludwig spaeth)

Lilac trees (Syringa Andenken Ludwig Spath) Gorgeous fragrant bloomer - every ones favourite. Very fragrant 4-lobed tubular flowers in late spring earley summer. A spreading medium sized deciduous shrub with dark green, heart-shaped leaves and fragrant, single, deep wine-reddish purple flowers in slender panicles to 30cm long. It's a hardy plant in most places throughout the Uk even in severe winters. Ludwig Spaeth blooms later than almost all other lilacs so you'll always have a few more weeks of that magical lilac fragrance around. Is a French Hybrid that was first introduced in 1883. It's a gorgeous bloomer that has stood the test of time. Early in June your shrub will be covered with huge clusters of beautiful deep reddish-purple blooms that are excellent as cut flowers. Just a few of them will perfume your entire house. The lilac has established itself to grow wild in many parts of Britain, as well as being cultivated in thousands of gardens for its colour and sweet smelling flowers. Many subtle shades of colour and most attractive to butterflies. Pruning= Tolerant of hard renovation pruning
